Prof. Gaddam Mallesham, a distinguished academician, researcher, administrator, and institution builder, with over two decades of experience in higher education, research, innovation, and academic leadership, is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Osmania University, Hyderabad. He currently serves as the Registrar of Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women's University (VCIWU), Hyderabad.

He obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University College of Engineering, Osmania University and completed both his Master of Technology (M.Tech.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. As a recipient of prestigious UGC Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship, he pursued advanced post-doctoral research at Yale University, USA, further enriching his expertise in advanced control systems, intelligent energy systems, and interdisciplinary engineering research.

Prof. Mallesham has held several key academic and administrative positions at Osmania University, including Dean, Development & UGC Affairs, Director, University Electrical Division, Head, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Chairperson, Board of Studies. Through these roles, he has made significant contributions to academic planning, institutional development, curriculum reforms, quality assurance, research promotion, faculty development, and infrastructure expansion and also exhibits exemplary leadership qualities.

His research interests include Control Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Grids, Renewable Energy Systems, Power System Optimization, and Power Quality. He has published over 80 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences, supervised numerous M.Tech. dissertations and Ph.D. scholars, and completed and actively participated in sponsored research projects, consultancy assignments, faculty development programmes, and international collaborations. He has been actively associated with various national and international professional bodies.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and academic leadership, Prof. Mallesham has received several prestigious honours, including the Best Teacher Award - 2020, by the Govt. of Telangana, Engineer of the Year Award, by Institution of Engineers, Telangana State, POSOCO Power System Award- 2013, for best Ph.D. thesis award in Electrical Engineering (National), UGC Raman Fellowship, Govt. of India. Vice-Chancellor Award for Research Excellence and Patents, INSA Best Young Scientist Presentation Award
